We’re getting an influx of spam/fraudulent orders coming through at present.

They’re not completing because our payment gateway is blocking them so they’re just appearing as failed but they try multiple times. The minute I delete their pending order, they try again under a new order number.

They’re using valid UK addresses and names so everything looks above board, but it’s not.

It’s like something has latched onto our site and won’t stop trying to create an order.

I have blocked IP addresses but their IPs are changing, and I have Akismet installed and working.

Is this a Woocommerce bug or is there any advice on how to prevent this?

    Hi there,

It sounds like a bot is automating test checkouts to try credit cards to check whether they’re valid. With this in mind, which payment gateway are you using at the moment? Also, have you considered using something like https://woocommerce.com/products/woocommerce-anti-fraud/ ?

Thanks so much for getting back to me so quickly.

We’re offer both Stripe and Paypal, but this bot seems to be latching onto Stripe.

I haven’t looked at that plugin but I will, thank you!
