Hey @rocketlist,
Thank you for reaching out! Please check below the answers to your questions:
I don’t want affiliates to get a commission if the person they refer checks out and only gets a free product (we have digital products).
Can you please let me know which eCommerce plugin you’re using? I’ve just tested the “Zero Amount Commissions” feature with WooCommerce and it’s working as intended. If this option is disabled, a 0 (zero) amount commission is not registered.
Please note that if you set a fixed amount commission rate, then the commission will be rewarded, as the order was referred. If you have a percentage commission rate, this means that a 0 (zero) total order will result in a 0 (zero) amount commission, which will not be created.
We also have products at £0.99 which means that we cannot use the function that limits above a certain amount as the minimum amount is £1.
I’m not really sure I understand this one. If you can elaborate a bit more, I may be able to offer more information.
In addition, is there a way to make sure that only the first order is rewarded, or there is only one commission per new customer that signs up and buys?
By default, no. All referred orders for new or existing customers will be created. However, I believe that I can help you with some custom code to achieve this. If you can let me know what eCommerce plugin you’re using, I can look into it and see what I can do.
Thank you and best wishes,
Mihai
