# “free” permalink

 * For WP 2.8.6 and above.
 * I’m using WP as blog and cms.
 * For the cms part I like very much being indexed by search engines. For this, 
   I need to have links like:
 * /hotel/paris/
    /hotel/berlin/ and so on
 * I have a static page “hotel” and then I’d like the capability to append string
   to the url as many as I wish. If I do that without any modification I get 404
   because WP looks for some parent/child pages.
 * How do I tell WP to not look for childs pages for certain pages, such as “hotel”
   in the example?

 * Isn’t that already buildt in?
 * No, I needed to append GET vars to the url instead of using the ?foo=bar form.

 * NO: [http://example.org/staticpage/?foo=bar](http://example.org/staticpage/?foo=bar)

 * By the way, I partially found a fix for this using the “redirection” plugin.
