• NOTE: 2nd Edit:

At first I thought this would not work with any “remote” storage you defined except for their paid Vault service, but I was mistaken about it’s “default” remote storage.

But I could not get this to work for me even with simple ftp. I have a brand new site with a few plugins and only 2 blog entries. I was trying to start with a verified backup/restore solution before I got too far into WordPress.

Giving it 3 stars because the developer was fast to respond, was helpful (for what I tried) and seems to very much care about his product.

It was quicker to try a few other backup plugins until I found one that worked for both backup and restore with minimal configuration.

Will maybe circle back around in the future and try this plugin again later…

    Hi,

This is not true at all. There is no default storage selection; the default is no remote storage. When you do go to choose a remote storage option, you don’t at all “have to” choose UpdraftVault.

You can choose any of the others. The Dropbox, Google Drive, Amazon S3, FTP, OpenStack, DreamObjects, S3 (compatible) and RackSpace Cloudfiles options are all free, and used by many hundreds of thousands of happy users.

I have no idea what has led you to conclude otherwise, but please can you change your review?

    David
