From Joomla to WordPress

    Hello everyone,

    I would like to “convert” a site that is currently running under Joomla to WordPress.

    Here I would set up a new WordPress installation and then take over the respective posts and images.

    But what about the SEO relevant links in the URLs? for both menus and posts? Can these then be taken over 1:1 from the old Joomla homepage?

    They might be able to depending on how the URL’s are set up in Joomla.

    If they can’t be, you should set up redirection so that the old URL’s have a 301 redirect set up to point to the new URL’s. That will give you the best chance of getting things indexed quickly and correctly.

    You can do that manually through your .htacess file, or there’s a lot of redirection plugins available.
