FTP Help

Help! I have successfully installed WordPress, but I cannot install any plugins etc. as the ftp is not working correctly. I login as

localhost

(I’m self hosting) with my username

wordpressftp

. WordPress is installed at /var/www/ as I’m using Apache2. It logs in correctly, but produces this message –

Unable to locate WordPress Content directory (wp-content).

. Any ideas?
