 * Alright before i get the hate on looking for the correct answer in old threads,
I have. I am not a coder or website designer and I am not a fan of WordPress
   at the moment.
 * I have researched for hours and have made it no closer to a resolution.
 * I am trying to update my website. I keep getting a critical error regarding plugin
and theme issues. When trying to upload or update these items, i am getting a
request for the FTP information. Our host is through Godaddy.com where I located
the WordPress SFTP credentials. These credentials are not working… I am ready
to drop WordPress as i have no one to call or get support from. Please any help
   is absolutely appreciated!

 * WP has nothing to do with your FTP credentials; you need to ask GoDaddy about
   that.
 * The fact that you’re getting an FTP login request means that the ownership of
your files is not set correctly. Again, this needs to be addressed by GoDaddy
   support.

 * FTP stands for a file transport protocol it has nothing to do with WordPress.
You can use it to upload plugins if you want. Godaddy has full control over how
FTP is installed and configured. You just need to get an FTP client and make
sure the setting matches the server configuration. WordPress has no input or
control over how your FTP has been configured. You need to talk to your hosting
   company to get that information.

 * Understood. I am working on the resolution from that side as well. I guess what
i am not understanding is why it is only accepting FTP and not SFTP credentials.
Acoordingy to GoDaddy WORdpress hosted sites are SFTP and Plesk use FTP (No idea
what half of that means, but..)

 * Again, that’s outside the scope of WordPress; it’s a GoDaddy issue.
