 * I am currently using magazine basic theme, I edited my function.php and since
   everything has turned white both on the website and the backend. I took out a
   small bit of code and this happened. Please Help

 * reupload the functions.php to the magazine basic theme and start again.
 * go in via your hosting cpanel and find the file and just reuplaod/overwrite the
   one you edited.
 * if you’re going to make significant changes to any file in a theme make a child
   theme and edit the files there.

 * Thanks for the reply, I really appreciate it. I did that right away and nothing
   happened. What should I do next? is it possible to reinstall the theme without
   losing the content? i dont mind losing the layout I have done so far. again thank
   you

 * you should be able to delete the theme and reinstall it pretty easily. not sure
   if you’ll be able to upload it via your sever file mager or if you’ll need an
   ftp client program thingy. depends on the size of the unzipped folder that contains
   the theme…

 * It just magazine basic theme, I have filezilla. is the best thing to delete the
   current magazine basic and download the new one and drag it into wp-content/theme
   in filezilla? will i still have my content? sorry about all this.

 * definitely, just replace the theme and nothing else and see what happens. delete
   the old one first so you don’t have to wade through lots of overwrite dialogue
   boxes!

 * Thanks, I did that alright and nothing still. Would it have anything to do with
   another theme i have in the wp-content/theme folder in filezilla? I have twentyten
   theme in there also but the magazine basic theme is the one I had originally 
   installed. thanks again.

 * leave the twentyten theme in there, that’s fine. remove the original magazine
   basic theme and see what happens…

 * Renaming the existing theme folder should have triggered WP to use a default 
   theme.
 * I would also try temporarily renaming your plugins folder to something like plugins1
