@callummccormick – I believe I see what you are describing on your site but I have not ever been able to recreate anything similar on any of my test sites.
Have you tried checking if there is a theme or plugin conflict?

Hello @cais,
I have been able to replicate (put temporary fix) by changing the lightbox to “Shutter” via Gallery > Other Options > Lightbox Effects.
Changing from the two effects actually changes the number of reported images. Clicking the first image reports: 1/119 instead of the broken Lightbox; 1/131.
Essentially, changing the lightbox effect from Shutter to Lightbox does this.
If I bought the paid version, is there a different code-set that would fix this?
Also, whilst I’m at this, I notice the lightbox on the sidebar widget is now broken.
Grrrr.
And I even wrote this for you in January

Your advice appreciated.

OK, stop there. By changing from Lightbox to Shutter – and then back has fixed it.
However, I do still have the issue with the sidebar widget. Maybe I should try deleting that and re-dragging the widget back freshly..?

@callummccormick – Unfortunately not all Lightbox Effects libraries (we more or less bundle standard libraries with NextGEN Gallery) are created equal and will behave in some cases differently than others.
For example, the “Lightbox” will show *all* images on the page no matter if they are included in the specific gallery or not whereas the “Shutter” will generally only display the images from the specific gallery.
In some rare cases this may create a conflict with a theme or another plugin but those have all been very unique from what I recall.
I’m happy to read things appear to be working more or less correctly, removing and re-adding the Widget may help to sort the issue with it out as well.
Thanks for your follow-up posts.
