Gallery Display Errors and Caption options

    Hi,
    I’m a WordPress newbie, and I’m using the theme Kale from LyraThemes. My problem is twofold with FooGallery:
    1) I’m using The Simple Portofolio of FooGallery Free version: both version 1.3.8 and 1.4.8 sometimes don’t display well on a browser page. I’m not sure what triggers the distortion, but in this instance the thumbnails are all different sizes, exceeding the slot allotted.
    2) Version 1.3.8 of the plugin offered the option of selecting the background color of the caption, which I loved, and also had an overall prettier display of the caption. The new version doesn’t. Is there an easier fix to keep using FooGallery and maintain the style of the 1.3.8 captions (the color option, the fonts and layout, etc)?
