 * First off, let me thank you for this amazing plug in!
As I said on my 5 stars
review about it, I’m using it to work around the iOS Safari browser limitation
   with video thumbnails on WordPress.
 * As stated in this article [https://muffinman.io/blog/hack-for-ios-safari-to-display-html-video-thumbnail/](https://muffinman.io/blog/hack-for-ios-safari-to-display-html-video-thumbnail/)
there’s a workaround by setting the starting time (or in this case starting thumbnail)
in a second different from 0.
 * Since this plug in has so many features, I wonder if it is possible to make the
process of generating the “randomize” thumbnail automatic.
 * I know I’m asking too much, but since this is a big issue that WordPress never
addressed, I know this could be a sustainable fix for many people.
 * Anyway, thanks a lot again!

 * Thanks for the great review!
 * I know about the Media Fragments hack, but I’ve never been sure about it because
it forces loading the beginning of the video, which can cause problems in some
situations. I’ve always considered the poster attribute a better option since
the first frame of a video is often a poor choice for a thumbnail, and it’s handy
to have that image separate from the video file. I might add it as an option
   in the future though.
 * For users who have FFMPEG installed on their servers, Videopack will automatically
generate thumbnails and set one as the poster image. I’m working on a way to
automate some of the video embedding workflow and I think making an array of
thumbnails available as soon as you upload a video makes a lot of sense.

 * Wow great info [@kylegilman](https://wordpress.org/support/users/kylegilman/)

I have a VPS, so I should have no problem installing FFMPEG on my server.
 * Yes, I’ve been dissuaded to take the media fragments approach, so I will stay
   away from it hahaha.
 * Thanks again and best wishes to you!
