# Generate shortcode button in editor

 * Hello,
 * I updated the plugin but I don’t have anymore the button in the wordpress editor
   to generate a shortcode. I can only generate a shortcode in the plugin settings
   page.
 * Did you remove it from the editor ?

 * yes, you are right I had to remove it since WordPress 5.0.
 * Since WordPress replace the standard editor with the new gutenberg one, it also
   removes the support for custom buttons step by step.
 * To be compatible and future proof this was a feature I had to remove and will
   find a new place directly in gutenberg in later versions.
