Hi there – I”m just getting started with SportPress, and I’m wondering if someone might be able to help point me in the right directions.

I’ve installed the Theme SpoClub that is utilizing the SportPress plugin.

I’m trying to build dynamic team pages based on the Sportpress data. So far I’ve imported, Teams, Staff, Players.

Problem 1 – I’ve assigned Staff and a Players List to the Team. The playerlist shows 0 players when I edit the team and when I try and view the page it’s just blank.

I feel like I need to build a template page somewhere? but I’m not sure where…

my objective is to show a team roster, with coaching staff for the current season 2025.

    Hi there @tomgiannelli ,

To confirm that the issue you are facing is not theme related, you can try to switch (temporalily) to a default theme like “Rookie” or “TwentyTwenty” and see if the issue is still there.

Also, a blank page usually means a PHP error. If you have access to your server logs, give also a look there to see if there is an error and what file is causing it.

    Thanks,
    Savvas

Thanks Savvas — this was the error line in the logs although i have no idea what it means.

PHP Fatal error: Uncaught TypeError: TEC\Events\Integrations\Plugins\Elementor\Controller::disable_blocks_on_display(): Return value must be of type string, null returned in /srv/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/src/Events/Integrations/Plugins/Elementor/Controller.php:319

    Hi there @tomgiannelli ,

It seems to be an issue/conflict with the-events-calendar plugin. One thing you can try before coming in contact with their support team is to go to WordPress->Settings->Permalinks and change the permalink setting of “Events” to a different slug (i.e. “matches”) and click Save.

    Thanks,
    Savvas

THat solved for the blank page, what about this problem?

Problem 1 – I’ve assigned Staff and a Players List to the Team. The playerlist shows 0 players when I edit the team.

That seems like a setting in the SportPress plugin somewhere but I looked everywhere…

IF I look in the player list it is populated.

    Hi @tomgiannelli ,

You need to confirm that your players and your player list have the same league and season assigned.

    Thanks,
    Savvas

    What about your player list?

    Thread Starter tomgiannelli

    (@tomgiannelli)

yes can confirm that too I was trying to upload a screenshot for you but it’s not work… I created a brand new league just to test… called it Volleyball and assigned it to the players, teams, staff and playerlists… and I still see a 0 in the number inside the teams edit page.

something to add is that I imported the teams, staff & players (in that order) using the import tool. rather than entering them one by one.

To share screenshots, use a free service like https://snipboard.io/ to upload them first and then share here the links.

Please provide screenshots from the edit pages of:

    1. Player list
    2. One player that should appear on this list

    Thanks,

The player list screenshot link is not working…

It seems like you are having the correct settings for your player list, because the players are shown correctly there. Despite the fact that at your team’s edit page you are seeing a “0” value on the players, at the frontend of you team do you see the player list correctly?

    Thanks,
    Savvas
