Hi there – I”m just getting started with SportPress, and I’m wondering if someone might be able to help point me in the right directions.

I’ve installed the Theme SpoClub that is utilizing the SportPress plugin.

I’m trying to build dynamic team pages based on the Sportpress data. So far I’ve imported, Teams, Staff, Players.

Problem 1 – I’ve assigned Staff and a Players List to the Team. The playerlist shows 0 players when I edit the team and when I try and view the page it’s just blank.

I feel like I need to build a template page somewhere? but I’m not sure where…

my objective is to show a team roster, with coaching staff for the current season 2025.

I don’t see anything on the front end just yet because of that PHP error that was mentioned earlier in the thread.

is the “0” value in the Team edit page irrelevant? or should the be a count? when I look in the demo data there for sport press I do see a player count assigned…

As long as the “Players” selection setting is set to “Auto”, the players count value on your team’s edit page will be always “0”. If you select your players manually, then you will be able to see the total number.

    Thanks,

Hi Savvas – I got the page to load now but not seeing the sportpress items in there… included a screen grab

    Hi Guys FYI
We had the same issue with the events calendar Plugin creating a critical crash but only on sportspress pages, we raised a bug with the developers and they closed the case without out much feedback.

However I noted they released an update today and I applied it in my non-prod environment and it appears to be resolved, well at least it didn’t crash sportspress pages like before, so might be worth having a look

    hope that helps

thats exactly what I did was update the events calendar plugin and then at least the page loads, but no sportspress content.

So I only just got a message from the EventsCalendar support team saying the fix (for our issue) is in Version 6.9.1

if you are running that version then maybe its a different issue

seems sportpress is conflicting with elementor. anyone seen that before? when I disable SportPress, elementor works. when it’s enables, there are server errors.

    Hi there @tomgiannelli ,

I am not aware of any conflicts between SportsPress and Elementor. Did you try to disable all plugins except SportsPress and Elementor and confirm that there is actually a conflict between the two? Most of the times there is a conflict between SportsPress and Event plugins, because they are using the same slug events for the events/matches. This specific conflict can be solved by changing the event’s slug for SportsPress at Settings->Permalinks to something different like matches.

    Thanks,
    Savvas

hey Savvas – sorry for late reply, I got some stuff working (atleast elementor builds now. what I’m still trying to do is the team page…

if you can see that example, the two coaches I manually added their profile via shortcode. the playerlist was okay…

if I can figureout a shortcode query to pullin the coaches for the team based on their team assignments I think I’m good.
