 * I am using the WordPress Adelle Theme with the GNU Lisence:

 * I just want to check the following:
 * The footer currently states:
    Blog at WordPress.com. | The Adelle Theme by BluChic.
 * I want to change it to the following:
    <copyright symbol> my website name <designed
   by> my website name
 * Please confirm:
 * 1. I can change the copyright in the footer to read “<copy right symbol> my website
   name” and this essentially means that the content is written by me and is owned
   by me.
 * 2. I can remove/edit the Adelle Theme to “<Designed by> my website name” meaning
   I am using a theme which was designed under the GNU General Public License.
 * Please advise soonest.

 * Yes to all of the above. The GPL lets you modify the code anyway you like. As
   long as you do not attempt to pass that code off as 100% your creation (but modifications
   are encouraged) then you should be fine.
 * As it sounds like you are modifying it for your site then modify away. 😉
 * Just keep in mind that changing a theme directly can cause you problems later
   on. If you create and activate a child theme of [Adelle](http://wordpress.org/themes/adelle)
   then your changes will be safe.
