    HI

I have been using your plugin for years.
I notice when I go into my Google Analytics account now and set up new Property for new client, and I was told last time by you guys I have to choose “Create Universal Analytics property only’ which is the 2nd option on the Analytics page, so it will connect correctly to your plugin.

I notice on the top of the Google Analytics website it says:

Universal Analytics will no longer process new data in standard properties beginning July 1, 2023. Prepare now by setting up and switching over to a Google Analytics 4 property.

So therefore HOW does your plugin work with Google Analytics 4 property?
How does this all integrate with your plugin ?

Please advise urgently when you have a moment.

    Thanks
    Kristin

    Hi Kristin,

Thanks for reaching out! I’m so sorry for the delay here.

We work with Google’s team extensively to keep our users up to date, and as a result, we released support for GA4 properties in September 2021. With this update, we also supported the ability to track into both a GA3 and GA4 property through our dual tracking feature. Check out our initial feature launch announcement here: https://www.monsterinsights.com/introducing-google-analytics-4-dual-analytics-tracking-for-wordpress/

As you noticed in Google’s notification, they announced some incoming changes to Universal Analytics properties. Here’s our announcement post about this Google update and how we can help with this transition: https://www.monsterinsights.com/universal-analytics-sunset-what-it-means-what-to-do-now/

With this new incoming Google change, our recommendation to users who are affected by this is to begin switching from using GA3 to GA4, and one way to do that is to use MonsterInsights’ dual tracking feature if you haven’t done so already.

By using the dual tracking feature, you can continue to track and view reports in GA3, while beginning to collect data in a GA4 property. We recommend tracking into a GA4 property sooner than later so you don’t need to worry about when GA3 properties are officially discontinued by July 1, 2023.

I hope this helps! If you have further questions, please let me know or feel free to reach out to us at https://www.monsterinsights.com/lite-support/

    Thank you!
