 * With Google removing the “Less Secure” password at the end of Spet 2024, will
   the email function on Wp Mail SMTP continue to operate?

 * Hi [@ingramatics](https://wordpress.org/support/users/ingramatics/),
   Thanks for
   reaching out!
 * Regarding your question on how the removal of the “Less Secure Apps” feature
   affects your WP Mail SMTP Google Mail function:
   **If you are using the “Other
   SMTP” mailer option** (please, look at the screenshot: [https://a.supportally.com/i/58lBuw](https://a.supportally.com/i/58lBuw))
   To ensure that you won’t be affected by this change while using the “Other SMTP”
   mailer to connect to Gmail / Google Workspace, you will need to generate an App
   Password instead of using your account password.Here are steps to follow: [https://wpmailsmtp.com/docs/how-to-set-up-the-other-smtp-mailer-in-wp-mail-smtp/#secure-gmail](https://wpmailsmtp.com/docs/how-to-set-up-the-other-smtp-mailer-in-wp-mail-smtp/#secure-gmail).
   As an alternative, we recommend using the “Google/Gmail” mailer option (please,
   look at the screenshot: [https://a.supportally.com/i/bxv1GM](https://a.supportally.com/i/bxv1GM))
   instead because it makes use of Google’s API that won’t be affected by this change.**
   If you are using the “Google/Gmail” mailer option, including the One-Click setup**(
   please, look at the screenshot: [https://a.supportally.com/i/bxv1GM](https://a.supportally.com/i/bxv1GM))
   In this case, you should be all set, and you don’t need to perform any additional
   steps.I hope this helps with clarification. Thanks 🙂
