Google indexed wp includes files in wordpress

    Hi, i wonder if anyone can help me?

    I recently completely redesigned and updated my site

    In google webmaster tools i am having errors with “blocked resources”, namely WP includes files, which last week i blocked with robots.txt as i found that google had INDEXED all my wp includes data in search! Each page was full of data and i deemed this a security risk. I have blocked wp includes now but does google need to see this data?

    Can i unblock it but make sure google doesnt index it this time and if so what should i do?

    hi andrew thanks for the reply.

    I am reading conflicting info on various sites about this. I feel that google wants to read the wp ioncludes and may penalise me if not, however how can i stop the files being indexed as it seems ridiculous that google would index what amoutns to a shed load of random data

    So that you don’t go on people’s opinions of what Google may or may not penalise you on, to instead try to get an official response

    yeah i have gone on there before and some peoples advice has been maybe well meaning but not to be taken seriously. I will see what anyone says.

    What makes you think it’s a security risk by the way? Because the WordPress file structure and content of most of those files is publicly available already
