    Hello,

I’m having a difficult time getting Google Maps to work properly. I have my Browser API key set and enabled the correct APIs from the documentation. I’ve tried dynamic and embed maps but all I keep getting is “Map Unavailable” when viewing the event without any indication as to why.

There doesn’t seem to be any feedback when searching for a location to hint why it is not working properly. The developer’s console also doesn’t show any errors or warnings. I have debugging enabled in WP Config. Are there any other settings I need to put into place to debug why Google Maps isn’t working as intended? Usually, Googles API should report back with a reason.

  • You have to setup your billing account on Google otherwise it won’t work. I had the same problem.

    Hello,

The billing account is set up. I guess this is less of a debugging issue and more of a feature request as I’d like feedback from Google whenever something is wrong with the API so we can fully understand what is going on. It seems like the plugin decides not to show these errors which again, is helpful for debugging.

I am also having problems getting the embed google map to appear. “Map Unavailable” message in the front and “Location not found” in WP Admin.
I have setup the API Key, Billing and Application restrictions.

Why does this plugin need to rely on the Google Maps API config? Why not use the simple Google Maps embed code? This should not be so complicated to setup this feature.

I will be trying other event plugins. This is a deal breaker for me.
