    Hello,

I’m having 2 youtube videos on my home page.
Recently, I’ve installed the WP youtube Lyte plugin and since then I’m facing two problems I don’t know how to solve:

    1. I got a message from Google Search Console saying the following fields are missing:
    “name”, “description”, “uploadDate”, and “thumbnailUrl”.

    Please note that:
    a. I’m using the plugin with my Youtube API Key, and when installed the plugin checked it ok.
    b. To put the youtube link on my homepage I just added this HTML code:
    httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z8_zMEH2sXY

    2. when I check the page load speed on PageSpeed Insights I get:
“93” score for desktop which is great!
    and “40” for mobile…

the solution according to pagespeed insights is to remove unnecessary javascript, and with more details:
    these URL:
    1. https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/s/player/e49bfb00/player_ias.vflset/en_US/base.js
    2. https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/s/player/e49bfb00/www-embed-player.vflset/www-embed-player.js

    Please help

    Thank you
    Ishai

tick the “cache thumbnails locally” option, which also tells LYTE to function on mobile (which is does not by default to avoid the dumb double-click-to-play behavior) and all will be well šŸ™‚

Hey, Thank you so much for the quick reply.
I’ve changed the cache thumbnails locally” to “yes” and clicked “save”.

I don’t know if it fixed the Google Search Console errors, since it takes a few days to validate the fix.
But checking the page loading speed on mobile still gives the “40” score and the same solution..

Is there anything more I should try?

purge any page cache (plugin or other) you might have maybe?

    Thread Starter BitBloom

    (@ishchai)

That’s weird… I’m using Lite Speed Cache plugin and now I’ve ‘cached all’,
The loading speed for desktop is now worse- “83” and for mobile “68”.

the main issue now seems to be “Reduce initial server response time”

well, if you purge your page cache, your first request for a page will take a tad more time whilst the cache rebuilds, but that’ll fix itself šŸ™‚

Ok, thank you! I will update you on that and on the Google Search Console issue as I’ll get answers from them.

    I have another question:

When I put my home page URL on Google Search, and choose ‘videos’-
Aren’t the 2 youtube videos I have there supposed to be on the results page?
because I don’t see them there.

they will, once the Google crawler sees the microdata now that LYTE is used on mobile as well.
