# “Gutenberg update” problem notification

 * Hello, I have been getting a problem notification on the Yoast SEO plugin dashboard
   which won’t go away and I don’t understand why.
 * “We have detected the following issues that affect the SEO of your site.
   Yoast
   SEO detected you are using version 12 of Gutenberg, please update to the latest
   version to prevent compatibility issues.”
 * However I have checked several times that I have the latest update of WordPress(
   6.2) and of Yoast (20.6). I even reinstalled the Gutenberg plugin which wasn’t
   on my website since it’s not needed anymore with the newer versions of WordPress.
   I made sure it’s the latest update of the plugin (15.6.2) but even now the notification
   is still showing.
 * I saw a [similar topic from 2021](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/yoast-seo-saying-gutenberg-needs-to-be-updated/)
   but haven’t found an answer that works in my case.

   you are experiencing this issue on your site.
   The warning that you are receiving
   regarding Gutenberg is certainly unexpected. As the separate Gutenberg plugin
   shouldn’t be necessary, we’d recommend disabling or removing that, and then to
   try also removing and reinstalling the Yoast SEO plugin to see whether that corrects
   the warning.

 * After removing and reinstalling the plugin, we’d also recommend clearing your
   site’s cache as well. If you clear your cache (server, plugin/theme, browser,
   or CDN such as Cloudflare) does this then resolve the issue with receiving the
   warning regarding Gutenberg? If you are not sure how to clear your server cache
   you should speak with your host provider.

 * I have followed all your suggestions and the warning is still there. Can I mute
   the notification assuming that this is just a glitch and not an actual problem
   for my website considering that everything is up to date?

 * Yes, you can go ahead to mute the notification as it is erroneous. Moreover, 
   please check your wp-content folder via FTP to confirm the Gutenberg plugin folder
   doesn’t exist.
