Hi, I was directed to WP by Netregistry in order to create a website for my business. I’ve been trying to download the program however it doesn’t seem to open anything.

I’m new to this whole creating a website. It maybe something very simple however I’m having trouble “unzipping” the file. If someone can help me with simple english that would be great!

You would need any zip software to uncompress the zip file. For example, you can find it here:

http://www.snapfiles.com/downloadfind.php?action=s&st=zip

Most them are trail versions, but you can still use it to unzip WordPress. Here is a nice free one:

http://download.cnet.com/7-Zip/3000-2250_4-10045185.html?tag=mncol;4

You would also need a FTP client software to upload to your hosting site. Here is the nice awesome one:

or you could the really easy route and get hosting somewhere that has a one click install that does all of that heavy lifting for you and then you get a shiny new site to play with. i’d do a lot of reading around html, css, php, web servers, hosting, domains etc before you set up your own site. it’s easy when you know how but a minefield if you don’t
