# Cannot access website & dashboard: HTTP ERROR 500

 * Hi,
    I am using the Vigor theme on the website, this evening I tried to add a
   block of code to change text on the woocommerce button and haven’t been able 
   to access my website since.
 * I do not have access to the wordpress dashboard. As per suggestions in the other
   posts on the forum,I have tried accessing the backend via CPanel and ftp but 
   I can’t access any URLs that mention the domain name.
 * The hosting service has provided with this error info>

 * Request you to please let me know how to resolve this.

 * your Vigor theme seems to be the error.
 * To confirm, try switching to the unedited default Theme (Twenty Sixteen.) for
   a moment using [FTP/ SFTP ](http://codex.wordpress.org/FTP_Clients), or your 
   web-host’s cPanel or whatever file management application your host provides (
   no Dashboard access required).

 * I have tried doing that, via FTP as well as the the PHPFileNavigator but I keep
   getting a cannot connect to the server error. :-/

 * Managed to get in through FTP and switch the themes.
 * Lost some info, but most of it is there. Phew!
