Help With Avatars Please

I’m using the WP User Avatar plugin and I found an article stating that if I change the get_avatar or get_wp_avatar function to
get_wp_user_avatar, then I should be able to set the dimensions and sizes to whatever I want rather than the standard square boxes.

Does anyone know where I can find that function in the parabola theme?
