 * Hello,
 * The nature of this request may be considered minor to you WordPress geniuses
   out there, but it has been jogging my brain for the past day or so. My company
   has been looking to convert to WordPress recently and in order to do so, we will
   need to ensure that user experience for our website will be considerably better
   with this new CMS. The problem is, WordPress concepts can be a bit foreign to
   m,e at times since I’ve been a big HTML guy for a long time now.
 * I’m trying to figure out how to further customize the WordPress login page for
   our site. Not the PHP, but the cosmetic/design end. I obviously know of certain
   plugins like “A5 Custom Login,” but I feel like I can take it a bit further.
   I do have knowledge on some HTML and would like to replicate some of the features
   from [this website’s login page.](http://my.rackspace.com/portal/auth/login)
 * I do like the fact that their layout seems to be much different from the standard
   vertical layout offered by WordPress, but I would like to know if it is even **
   POSSIBLE** to change that. Also, I like how their logo fades in upon arrival,
   but when you refresh their page or try to return to their login, it won’t do
   it again.
 * If anyone has any idea on if this is possible in WordPress’s standard login page,
   and could help me out in possibly writing the code from those two features listed
   in the previous paragraph, your help would be greatly appreciated.
 * Thanks,
    Derek

 * How would I go about doing such a thing? Any step-by-step on how to access these
   CSS files for the login?

 * All of the above may be achieved with CSS:
 * To discover what CSS is output by your theme, use a web inspection tool such
   as Firebug: [http://getfirebug.com/](http://getfirebug.com/) , Chrome Inspect
   Element: [https://developers.google.com/chrome-developer-tools/](https://developers.google.com/chrome-developer-tools/)
   or Internet Explorer 9+ F12 Dev. Tools: [http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd565627(v=vs.85)](http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd565627(v=vs.85)).
   aspx#csstool
 * There are others.
 * When editing CSS, use a Child Theme
    [http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes](http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes)
   Custom CSS Plugin, or Theme provided custom CSS option. Edits to parent themes
   are lost on theme update.
 * Learn CSS: [http://www.w3schools.com/css/](http://www.w3schools.com/css/)

 * So, I can customize my **WordPress login** using CSS styles in a child theme?
