# Home Network Setup

 * First, I apologize if this topic has already been discussed, I have looked and
   been unable to locate responses to help me resolve my configuration issue.
 * Environment:
    • Hardware: QNAP TS-419+ (Apache webserver) Network: • Cable Modem(
   configured in bridged mode to pass all traffic thru) • Netgear WNDR4500 (connected
   to cable modem) configured with Static IP provided by cable company, also performing
   NAT and DHCP • QNAP connected to the Netgear router with (192.168.1.50) Web server
   configured to use port 80 Wordpress install • Wordpress 3.1.2 that was then upgraded
   to 3.5.1 • Standard install with WordPress installed in /web/wordpress
 * Problem:
    I am not able to get the above components configured such that external
   requests will properly route to the QNAP AND to the WordPress subdirectory. The
   Netgear has port forwarding configured to pass all external port 80 requests 
   to 192.168.1.50:80. I have also tried using a virtual server to pass the incoming
   request to the /web/wordpress directory. That seemed to work but when I tried
   to log in and administer the site, the virtual server configuration seemed to
   restrict any access to the site.
 * Goal:
    First, I need to understand how to configure the above to properly pass
   traffic to and from external requestor, while ensuring I can administer the site
   from anywhere.
 * Eventually, I want to host three different blogs with independent accounts. I
   do not want to share account access across all three sites. I currently only 
   have one static ip and would like to figure out the best way of routing traffic
   to the three sites using the single ip.
