Homepage issues

Hi,

I have created a static page entitled ‘home’, which i have set as my ‘front page display’ via ‘Setting’>’Reading’. Above the ‘home slider’ picture and to the right hand side I would like there to be the words ‘Home’,’About’, ‘Contact us’, ‘Gallery’, ‘Blog’ which link to the appropriate pages (in the same way the demo model of ‘Virtue’ has ‘Home’, ‘Portfolio’, ‘Features’, ‘Blog’ ‘Shop’). I know how to create a page, but i do not know how to allow people to access it from the home page.

Please could someone explain how to do this step by step as simply as possible for me. It’s probably very easy but not being able to do it is driving me crazy!
