# how does Donations work?

 * on the configure -> payment info page, the last item in the top section says “
   will you accept donations?”. I would assume this means that they would add a “
   Would you like to add an optional donation” box on the registration page, so 
   that attendees can buy a ticket and add on a donation in any amount.
 * I can’t figure out what this is or how it works… Anyone know?

 * That is incorrect. Donations options are enabled for free events where you would
   like to encourage donations but not required.
