I’d like to know how Mailchimp tracks users that enter and interact with our site. For example, let’s say a user enters our site through the homepage, then clicks a category page, then product page, then add to cart (taking them to the addtocart page) then clicks checkout, but does not purchase.

What stages will the users email be picked up at (for example to send abandon cart email)? Also, will the user be tracked via server side api or cookies or what is the form of tracking used? Will any users that addtocart be ‘un-emailable’?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hey @nilewm,

Thanks for reaching out to us.

Please note that e-commerce sync (with abandoned cart sync) is only available in our premium add-on.

Once the user goes to checkout and enters their email address, our plugin saves the checkout details and syncs with Mailchimp in case the order is not completed.
