I want more comments on my site, http://telecommer.com, and realize the registration thing is holding people back. I want to try allowing comments without registration for awhile, and I will just deal with the spam until it gets to be too much.

I’ve unchecked the requirement for comments to be moderated, but they still can only be sumitted after registration. What gives?

Also, can I restrict comments to 10 days after the posting date? I heard this is also good to keep out the spammers.

Thanks for any and all advice

Look in the Administration > Options > General for this:

    Membership:
    ___ Anyone can register
___ Users must be registered and logged in to comment

Check off anyone can register and check or uncheck “users must be registered”, depending upon your preference.

doh! the “Users must be registered …” was still checked. My attention was focused too much on the Options>Discussion settings.

    Thank you very much.

There are no dumb questions, just some are very easy to answer.
