How to create a Multi Layer Website

    Hello Guys.

    I am relatively new to WordPress. I have the Genesis framework running with their free sample child theme.

    I’ve noticed a lot of websites’ home pages have a layered like this one:http://www.applewoodfixit.com/
    WS — — —
    ———-||
    ———-||
    ———–
    ———-
    They have layers of widgets.

    How can I achieve that structure on my –under construction website??

    It seems my website only has one storey. Would like to add one storey for News and blogs, One storey for a gallery of pictures.

    Am I just really restricted because of my theme? Or are there plugins or code to add some layers?
