    Hi,

Is there any way that I can select some other parts of my post as the excerpt, other than the first x number of words?

Like second paragraph, or a text I select?

My issue is that my posts start with some technical data in a list format, but that looks terrible as an intro text when my posts are listed.

So my post has this kind of logic:
(just for the example – my webpage is not about cars)

    Manufacturer: Mercedes Benz
    Colour: Red
    Year: 1995

Text of the article, blah-blah-blah… => this is what should go to the excerpt.

    Any ideas or pointers?

    Thank you!

    Adam

  • If you open the post you want to change, in the editing screen view.

Make sure you are in visual mode, then below the main content box there should be a box that says “excerpt” where you can put a custom excerpt.

If this is not there, when in the same view, click “screen options” in the very top right hand corner of wordpress (just under the username) and make sure “excerpt” is ticked, it will then appear and you can choose what you want to be the excerpt.

Thank you! Looks like it was an easy one 🙂
