  • This is more like a networking question than a WordPress question unless your WordPress doesn’t work at all from inside your home network.

You might ask this over at Stack Exchange.

You probably have an IP address representing your home network on your ISP’s network and possibly out on the greater Internet itself.

The problem is the router in your home or office network may not pass the port 80 requests through and may not handle the outside IP address like it would the server’s address internally.

Sometimes you might find your ISP will help a little bit so you could ask but sometimes they won’t want you doing that either.

If you do local hosting via Local, you can temporarily provide access from the “outside”.
