• Hi guys,

I’ve tried hard to optimize the speed of my website. Which is already kind of hard, since I’m running Google Ads and ironically they often slow the site down when checking with google’s own page speed tool. But anyways, the potentially slowest item in the list of suggested improvements, is always something font-related.

    /css?family=Open+Sans%3A400%2C600&1&display=swap&ver=2.1.0(fonts.googleapis.com)
    1,4 KiB
    780 ms

the version number at the end of the url sometimes seems to be different, but its always open sans google font, with a potential saving of 780 ms.

I think thats part of the colormag theme i’m using, cuz I would not know what it would be otherwise.

What can I do to optimize this? I’ve tried using autoptimize but even when disabling google fonts, the headers are still loaded somehow and this item still pops up in the page speed insights.

Hoping someone can help me out a little bit!

    Thanks
