How To Remove False "Available Update" Indicator

    I have a theme that I purchased from a well known and reputable WP Theme developer provider — MyThemeShop. The theme is called “OnePage” (Version 1.0.6).

    Every time I open WP I am visually reminded to update my OnePage theme to version 1.05.

    I did the update the first time I saw it — weeks ago, because I keep my WP services up-to-date daily. I then had to back it out.

    The problem is the “OnePage” theme is version 1.05 and from a completely different developer — iografica.

    How do I tell WordPress not to remind me to update this theme? Or do I have to live with this reminder button for the remainder of the life cycle of my WP install?

    There are a few ways to achieve this, but the simplest way is to edit the version number defined at the top of the style.css, changing it to a very high number like 99999.

    True, but then I would never be notified of a true update to the real theme. Thank you for the suggestion @cubecolour.

    What might the other ways be?

    As you are using a commercial theme I do not know whether the vendor has a mechanism to update.

    As updates from ww.wp.xz.cn have taken place on your installation resulting in your theme being replaced with a similarly named one, it sounds like your theme vendor either does not have an update mechanism or they have one which doesn’t work well.

    I have attempted to provide a general answer appropriate for any non-ww.wp.xz.cn theme, however for specific support for your theme you will need to contact the vendor.
