Hi,

I would like to remove index.php from my website’s url. Can someone help?

I have a windows hosting service (Microsoft IIS 6.0) where by there is no .htaccess to configure (me thinks!). the hosting provider is blacknight.com and here is the package link if you like to know the details.

P.S. I tried configuring the permalinks on the WP admin and had a look at few other forum inquiries with no use.

Hi,

Add this code in htaccess and have a check:
```
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} !^POST
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /index.php/$1 [L]
```

windows does not have mod_rewrite so it can’t have an .htaccess

Hi everyone… sorry for the delayed response. Been busy working out few things with the website.

Some good news. I managed to switch from my old host to hostgator.com. I’m now on Cpanel and linux hosting system.

Will there be a way to get rid of index.php through that?
