.htaccess question

    I’m relatively new to WordPress, and have what I hope is a simple question.

    I know not to modify the core files, because they get overwritten with upgrades, but I need to make some changes in the .htaccess file in the root directory, and I’m wondering if that gets overwritten with upgrades too. ??

    IOW, will setting in the .htaccess file persist between upgrades?

    Always keep a good backup of everything and double-check those backups before upgrading but the htaccess files are normally left alone. Never trust that though… backups are your friend here if anything does go wrong.

    Thanks for the feedback. Sorry for the slow response…I didn’t realize it had been moved. I posted in Developing, because I’m just starting to develop, and not in Fixing, because I haven’t had to fix anything yet!
