 * I know there are a few other threads on this topic but there is also new developments.

   WPEngine recently added their “Web Rules” area to the control panel. This is
   to allow users to add access rules, header rules, and rewrite rules for themselves
   without having to contact support.
 * In iThemes, we can grab the wp-config and htaccess rules and copy the text of
   them. The problem is the format of those aren’t like what WPEngine has. I can’t
   just paste in htaccess rules and then it works on nginx somehow.
 * I guess what I’m asking is, given the new web rules area of WPEngine, does that
   make it any easier to add the rules needed by iThemes? Or to put another way,
   can iThemes somehow tell us how to add their rules in the WPE format?
 * I’m not sure how to adapt the iThemes htaccess rules to this new web rules exactly.
 * I feel like there are just a bunch of small features of iThemes I’m missing out
   on because those htaccess rules are ignored.

 * Hi [@guyinpv](https://wordpress.org/support/users/guyinpv/),
 * From what I know, iThemes Security works with NGINX. I would recommend reaching
   out to a 3rd party to customize the NGINX rules for you.
 * Listed here are those that still relies on .htaccess to be enforced: [https://help.ithemes.com/hc/en-us/articles/360043921354-What-Rules-are-Enforced-by-the-htaccess-File-in-iThemes-Security-Pro-](https://help.ithemes.com/hc/en-us/articles/360043921354-What-Rules-are-Enforced-by-the-htaccess-File-in-iThemes-Security-Pro-)
