* Hello,
* some of our clients complain about broken (thank you) emails from our shop.
* Some of the text will show up, but the emails are covered with “=” characters
all over the place, or
`< title>` might be visible as text. Or there are random
spaces within words where there should be none.
* Please advise.

* This is strange, and I’m not able to replicate it with current version of WooCommerce.
Could you please send me a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it
via WooCommerce > Status.
Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”.
Once you’ve done that, you can paste it here in the response.

* Thank you for sending the site’s status report. I see that WooCommerce and WordPress
on your site are outdated, can you please update them to the latest versions
and see if that resolves the issue? Let me know how that goes.

* Those symptoms look a lot like a quoted-printable ([https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quoted-printable](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quoted-printable))
encoding problem. So if updating doesn’t help, here’s a few more steps to try:
1. Try switching the email format type (WooCommerce -> Settings -> Emails -> [choose
each email type that goes to the customer] -> Email type) from Multipart to
HTML (if you don’t mind losing plain-text emails) or vice-versa
2. Check in your host’s control panel for any settings that let you change outgoing
email encoding, or ask if there’s anything they can do to update their mail-
sending system.
3. If your host can’t do anything, switch to a dedicated mail provider (usually
free for low email volumes, see the [official Woo list](https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/email-faq/#section-5)
