 * There used to be a tab titled HTML. I went to Your Profile and checked the check
box Disable the visual editor when writing. In selecting a new post or a new
page the editor doesn’t indicate a HTML mode tab. Though it appears the user
can insert html and javascript in this mode.

 * There are two tabs by default. You disabled one of them which was the visual
which leaves you with the text tab which is what you are thinking of when you
   say html.
