 * Is there any reason to not add html5 script support to Neve?
   I am having an issue
   with a combination of Neve theme and the wordpress-popular-posts plugin that
   prevents updating to WP 6.4.The issue can be resolved with this code:add_theme_support(‘
   html5’, array(‘script’) );According to this: [https://wordpress.org/support/topic/wpp-stopped-working-no-data/](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/wpp-stopped-working-no-data/)
   I can add the code to a child theme, but this seems like the sort of thing that
   a parent theme should have enabled by default.
 * The page I need help with: _[[log in](https://login.wordpress.org/?redirect_to=https%3A%2F%2Fwordpress.org%2Fsupport%2Ftopic%2Fhtml5-support-5%2F%3Foutput_format%3Dmd&locale=en_US)

 * Hello @appideastdotcom,
 * I’m sorry to hear about the issues you encountered!
 * I tried to replicate the bug, but the WordPress Popular Posts block works fine
   for me, both when it’s added on a page or in the sidebar, on multiple WordPress
   versions.
 * Is it possible to share a screenshot or a video with the block settings you used?
   Also, a link to your website would help me better debug this issue.
 * Thanks for helping us making Neve better!
 * Best regards,
 * Irinel

 * Hi [@irinelenache](https://wordpress.org/support/users/irinelenache/),
 * I’m the developer of the WordPress Popular Posts plugin.
 * I added a workaround to the plugin in version 6.3.4 to make sure that the lack
   of explicit HTML5 support from some themes (I guess Neve is one of them?) wouldn’t
   affect the plugin. If you install version 6.3.3 you’ll be able to replicate the
   issue as described [here](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/popular-posts-disapeared-after-wp6-4-update/).
 * That was a couple of weeks ago though, OP might have already solved the issue
   by updating the plugin. Ideally Neve should be updated to provide support for
   HTML5 tags as described [here](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/popular-posts-disapeared-after-wp6-4-update/#post-17184460).
 * If you have any comments / questions please feel free to reach out.
 * Have a nice day!

 * Hello @hcarbera,
 * Thank you for explaining the behaviour!
 * I managed to replicate the issue now and I forwarded the suggestion to our development
   team.
 * Have a gread day ahead,
 * Irinel
