# HTTP 500 error during installation

 * Hi, I followed the installation guidelines in the codex, and used the 5 minute
   install. All went well and I received the you can now log in message, when I 
   try to log in I get a HTTP 500 internal server error.

 * That is the link I am using from the install screen.
 * Any thoughts?
 * I have been reading through the forums for a while now, here is what I have tried(
   and then reversed)
 * php.ini fix doesn’t work
    I can’t find a .htaccess file (either in the route 
   of the site, or in the wordpress folder) (and yes, hidden files are viewable)

 * It may be that your installation did not go well.
    Try reuploading all files 
   again. Read the [Manual Update ](http://codex.wordpress.org/Updating_WordPress#Manual_Update)
   directions first!

 * Please check your error of your webserver. And find how to fix this.
