# HTTP 500 Internal server error

 * Hello,
    My blog at [http://www.mikecranephotography.com/blog](http://www.mikecranephotography.com/blog)
   will not display anymore. I can only get “Error establishing a database connection”
   Must not be hosting because the rest of the site works fine. Any idea what is
   going on? It worked fine for weeks up until yesterday. Thanks for your help.

 * Where is the .htaccess file located in Control Panel?
    Is it in a folder somewhere?

 * It is hidden file so if you using cpanel when you click on file manager you will
   have a choice of seeing hidden file tick that and you see it in public_html or
   the folder you installed wordpress

 * If you are using other FTP clinet (e.g., [filezilla](http://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_File_Permissions#Unhide_the_hidden_files)
   etc.), they will also let you view the hidden files such as .htaccess
