# HTTP 500 Internal Server Error – CANNOT ACCESS CP

 * All I did was to update some of the plug-ins in the WP CP yesterday; I don’t 
   even know what these were, but it suggested updating them, so it seemed like 
   a good idea! Now I cannot get into my CP – AT ALL! All I get is the above error.
   This is serious & a bit scary; I cannot do anything with my website unless I 
   can get back in. Is there actually any real support from WordPress on here, or
   is it just users moaning at each other?

 * Thanks – but I’m sorry I don’t understand what this means? I’ve not accessed 
   the admin for my website anywhere other than the WP CP (which I cannot now get
   into). Where is the FTP? And what is PhpMyAdmin?
    Sorry; I’m not a web maestro–
   I’m just a simple photographer – someone else designed the site for me (who is
   not available any more); I just know how to add content.

 * I’m sorry but this is part & parcel of running your own web site. If these are
   tasks that you feel you cannot undertake, you may have to consider hiring a professional.
