# HTTP ERROR 500

 * Hello everyone,
 * I’m facing a major issue with my website. It stopped working this morning and
   keeps showing an HTTP ERROR 500 message. I checked the wp-config.php file and
   found it empty. Also, while the .htaccess file was empty at first, it seems okay
   now.
 * I tried to upload a copy of the wp-config.php file using FTP, but it said the
   disk is full, even though there’s still about 20% of space left.
 * I tried renaming .htaccess and disabling all plugins but it didn’t help.
 * I can’t contact my hosting provider right now because they only respond during
   office hours (Mon-Fri 8-18).
 * I found this error in WP Toolkit: Error: Strange wp-config.php file: wp-settings.
   php is not loaded directly. [error]FailedToExecuteWpCliCommand: exit status 1[/
   error]
 * I’m really stressed and I don’t know what to do next. Has anyone had this problem
   before or knows how to fix it?

 * You’ll need to contact your hosting provider’s support about this, and it might
   be the root of the problem.

 * Download a fresh copy of WordPress [https://wordpress.org/download/](https://wordpress.org/download/)
   and use the wp-config-sample.php file to build a new wp-config.php file.
 * Above all, make sure that the database values are set correctly [https://developer.wordpress.org/apis/wp-config-php/#configure-database-settings](https://developer.wordpress.org/apis/wp-config-php/#configure-database-settings)
   and don’t copy/paste any sections from your existing wp-config.php file that 
   aren’t already in the sample file.
 * When you’re done, rename wp-config-sample.php file to wp-config.php and replace
   your current wp-config.php file.
