# HTTP ERROR 500

 * Changed my theme and now cannot get to [http://www.CiminoAdventures.com](http://www.CiminoAdventures.com).
   Get
 * This page isn’t working
    [http://www.ciminoadventures.com is](http://www.ciminoadventures.com is)
   currently unable to handle this request.
 * HTTP ERROR 500
 * Looked on line and found a tutorial that requires FTP handling. I am very green
   so don’t have much knowledge.  Listened to the video at

   Which requires me to link to an [http://FTP. ](http://FTP. ) I am using a hotspot
   to connect and get this error in the FTP:
 * You appear to be behind a NAT router. Please configure the passive mode settings
   and forward a range of ports in your router. Warning: FTP over TLS is not enabled,
   users cannot securely log in.
 * So I am lost. Can’t get to the .htaccess file or do anything. Please help.

 * Use an FTP client or your hosting control panel’s file manager application. You
   can’t do `http://ftp.....`
 * Since this popped up when changed the theme, use FTP or the file manager application
   to remove the new theme from wp-content/themes.
 * Errors like this are logged. Check the error log on your server. If you can’t
   find the log, please contact your host.
 * Meantime, enable wp_debug and wp_debug_log and after an error, look at wp-content/

 * You can also try this: Please attempt to disable all plugins, and use one of 
   the default (Twenty*) themes. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one
   to identify the source of your troubles.
 * If you cannot access wp-admin, there are other ways to [deactivate plugins](https://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_Troubleshooting#How_to_deactivate_all_plugins_when_not_able_to_access_the_administrative_menus.3F).

 * Thanks Steve for the quick reply but none of this helps me. It appears that when
   I changed the theme, the website crashed. Have seen many postings on how to fix
   this – including the website I posted but I can’t fix it. Will continue to investigate.

 * Contact your host if you do not know how to access your site via FTP or your 
   hosting control panel.

 * My issue was solved by FixRunner. It appears that the theme I moved my site to
   was not fully compatible to WordPress. With WordPress being an open source, it
   appears that anyone can put out a theme. So now I have to be more careful. thanks
   for all your support.
