 * Hi everyone
 * I was practicing to develop websites, and to start again from scratch, I reset
   my site using the wp-reset plugin. And I uninstalled WordPress and then reinstalled
   it again through my C-panel. After reinstalling it, I can no longer access the
   wp dashboard becuase the following error ocurs. I had loads of error logs and
   chache in wp-content in the file-manager so I deleted some files.
 * HTTP Error 500: When attempting to access my WordPress site’s dashboard (URL:
   [https://persianpantry.pk/wp-admin/](https://persianpantry.pk/wp-admin/)), I 
   encounter an HTTP Error 500. This error persists, preventing access to the backend.
 * Wordfence-related Error in Logs: In my error logs, I noticed repeated occurrences
   of an error related to Wordfence:

 * Internal server errors (error 500) are often caused by plugin or theme function
   conflicts, so if you have access to your admin panel, try deactivating all plugins.
   If you don’t have access to your admin panel, try [manually resetting your plugins](https://wordpress.org/support/article/faq-troubleshooting/#how-to-deactivate-all-plugins-when-not-able-to-access-the-administrative-menus)(
   no Dashboard access required). If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one
   individually until you find the cause.
 * If that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the default theme for your
   version of WordPress to rule-out a theme-specific issue. If you don’t have access
   to your admin panel, access your server via [SFTP or FTP](https://wordpress.org/support/article/ftp-clients/),
   or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel, navigate to `/wp-content/
   themes/` and rename the directory of your currently active theme. This will force
   the default theme to activate and hopefully rule-out a theme-specific issue.
 * If that does not resolve the issue, it’s possible that a `.htaccess` rule could
   be the source of the problem. To check for this, access your server via SFTP 
   or FTP, or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel, and rename
   the `.htaccess` file. If you can’t find a `.htaccess` file, make sure that you
   have set your SFTP or FTP client to view invisible files.
 * If you weren’t able to resolve the issue by either resetting your plugins and
   theme or renaming your `.htaccess` file, we may be able to help, but we’ll need
   a more detailed error message.

 * First of all, thank you for getting back! Much appreciated.
   Secondly, I tried
   all of the methods mentioned above such as renaming plugins, themes, and .htaccess
   and still the issue persists. By the way, I am not a developer, and I am a total
   beginner when it comes to website development. I checked my error log in the 
   file manager, and its giving the same error code. Which I am pasting here:

 * So the issue started when I deleted all my plugins, and I re-installed WordPress
   for my domain “persianpantry.pk”. Then I tried to login to my wp dashboard, the
   HTTP Error 500 occurred and I am totally clueless because all I wanted was a 
   fresh start. Previous plugin was Wordfence, which seems to be in the error log,
   and I remember deactivating it and then deleting it before I re-installed WordPress.

   I face this HTTP error 500 issue. And this is the URL when I click login for

   This is my addon domain, and the primary domain curatedhome.pk seems to be working

 * The error message in the log indicates that you have installed WordFence as a
   plugin. An important file is missing from the root directory, which causes the
   error message.
 * Have a look at the .htaccess file. It may contain an entry that includes the 
   file “wordfence-waf.php”. Remove this line and any lines around it. See also:

 * Hi, I have an important update. I looked the solutions in the link you provided.
   I didn’t understand much of it but I created an empty file in my persianpantry.
   pk folder called “wordfence-waf.php”. And it is no longer giving me the HTTP 
   Error 500. Now I can access my dashboard. 
   However, now there’s a new issue which

 * Hi, another important update!
   So I now that I can access my dashboard again, 
   I deleted all of the default plugins, and wordfence was not among those plugins.
   I installed wordfence again, activated it and deleted it again, so that I can
   delete the “wordfence-waf.php” empty file that I created and be rid of it once

   However, when I deleted the file I made “wordfence-waf.php”, and I reloaded my

   So, I can access my dashboard again. I created the empty file. However, when

 * Hi, I re-installed wordpress just to test. Nonetheless, the issue remains. I 
   couldn’t access the wp dashboard. Not until I created the empty file “wordfence-
   waf.php” again. And then only I could access the dashboard with the Error 500.
   
   So is there a solution? I mean, it works fine if the “wordfence-waf.php” file
   is present even though wordfence is not installed in my plugins. But my question
   is that, is this the only way? Can I not remove the empty file and still use 
   my wp dashboard without Error 500?

 * Hi there, the issue is finally resolved. I had to remove the “wordfence-waf.php”
   code from the “.user.ini” in the file manager. Now I deleted the empty “wordfence-
   waf.php” file and my website is working flawlessly. No more Error 500. Here’s
