# HTTP Error 500 (Internal Server Error)

 * When i click on a page under my menu it shows this message :
    Server error The
   website encountered an error while retrieving [http://domain.com/test-page/](http://domain.com/test-page/).
   It may be down for maintenance or configured incorrectly. Here are some suggestions:
   Reload this web page later. HTTP Error 500 (Internal Server Error): An unexpected
   condition was encountered while the server was attempting to fulfill the request.
 * I read some similiar posts but they didnt work to me …
    I opened the ERROR LOGS
   on my Bluehost cpanel and were some error logs regarding to htaccess but i dont
   know what to change there …. I deleted all my plugins , reinstalled the theme
   but still the same… PLease , how can i resolve this problem ??

 * Use FTP or your host’s File Manager to rename your .htaccess file. It’s a hidden
   file so make sure viewing hidden files is enabled. If that works, you’ll know
   it is something in your .htaccess file. Keep in mind that your site probably 
   uses other legitimate code in your .htaccess file though. WordPress permalinks,
   for example, use the .htaccess file.
 * There’s a good chance that a theme or plugin you installed changed your .htaccess
   file and messed it up. Try deactivating plugins too.

 * I did that , i renamed the file but it showed me a 404 error , redirecting me
   to the bluehost

 * Maybe some steps i can do to fix my .htaccess ….I have no plugins on my site 
   cause i deleted them ….:(

 * Try:
    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme by renaming your current theme’s
   folder in wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using
   [FTP](http://codex.wordpress.org/FTP_Clients) or whatever file management application
   your host provides.
 * – [resetting the plugins folder](http://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_Troubleshooting#How_to_deactivate_all_plugins_when_not_able_to_access_the_administrative_menus.3F)
   by FTP or phpMyAdmin.
 * – re-uploading all files & folders – **except** the wp-content folder – from 
   a **fresh** download of WordPress.

 * Thnx , now everything was OK after i reinstalled the theme…But if i delete the
   pages that the theme had with the installation pack the same thing happened….
   
   Anyway thnx :)…i will not delete the pages , just rename them so i will be ok
