# HTTP Error During API Request

 * When searching for plug-ins I see this error message “An unexpected HTTP Error
   occurred during the API request”.
    Also, on the dashboard, in the incoming links
   section, the following error message is seen: “RSS Error: WP HTTP Error: Failed
   to connect to 74.125.224.147: Permission denied” What should I do? Please help!

 * Same issue here. It’s affecting all of my sites (all hosted on the same VPS).
   Prior to seeing the error the sites started going extremely slow. I thought it
   was plugin related, but switching to the default WP theme and disabling all plugins
   didn’t fix the issue.
 * Not sure where to start.
