# HTTP Error – File Upload

 * Hi All,
 * I am seeing the words “HTTP Error” when attempting to upload files
    I’ve never
   seen this before, does anyone know what this means?

 * Hi, thanks for the prompt response.
 * This article is from 2008 – I wasn’t sure if this is out dated…
 * Also I find it very strange as my other domains on the hosting seem to work, 
   it’s only this domain, also I haven’t had to do this before and I have created
   6 websites with WordPress so I find it very strange

 * No – it is still valid. The most common cause is a mod_security issue.

 * This seems to be happening a lot more frequently lately. I’m wondering if it 
   has anything to do with the most recent Apache patch?

    Are you using Apache? If so, what version are you on?
 * I’m not sure if the patch has anything to do with it, but it seems like a lot
   of users are having this issue lately and like esmi posted, a lot of times it’s
   a mod_security or similar issue.
